Games to Encourage Friendliness in Your Children

These games teach children how to be more friendly are perfect and fun to do at home or at school.

1. Role-playing games:

Mission: Represent a character who must use friendly words to communicate his/her idea. Dynamic: Hand a card with a little drawing of a character engaged in an activity to each child. The characters are: A chef, a lady working on the computer, a painter and an engineer.
For Example: In his role-playing, the chef might say, “Can I offer you a plate you like? Would you like to try my special pasta? A special round of applause for the cooks who did a great job today!”
Achievements: When the child who represents the character achieves his or her objective, you offer them a symbolic prize such as a star. The child with the most stars wins the game!

2. Stories with puppetry:

Mission: In a group, invent short stories where the characters recreate situations in which you have to be friendly.
Dynamic: The situations could be helping someone, asking for something and using “please” and “thank you.” In addition, these situations might include demonstrating empathy for others emotions, or even sharing a toy or dessert.
Achievements: When you finish the story, everyone exchanges hugs and congratulates one another for their participation in the activity.

3. Mimicking friendly actions:

Mission: Guess what you are observing! This special activity can be done in a pair.
Dynamic: Everyone involved should mimic an activity, and without saying anything in words, a friendly action. Then the rest of the group can guess it! The actions can be helping an elderly person to cross the street, picking up garbage and throwing it in the recycling bin or even hugging someone who is sad.
Achievements: Both those who represent the mimic and those who guess the mimic will earn a star.
