Why do kids like games that go round and round?
How fun are group activities? Do you remember your favorite games? I’m sure you preferred games that involved your friends. For example, you probably remember how happy you were at recess when your teacher put you in a circle and you played with different songs and group dynamics.
These popular activities, especially in preschool, are a huge opportunity to learn in different areas.
Singing in a group circle allows us to explore our abilities
The group dynamics involved in singing and dancing allow kids to recognize their physical abilities. In this game, the little ones begin to acquire and develop their motor skills, learn about their surroundings and explore their expressive capabilities. These games even favor the entertainment of our emotional intelligence when you incorporate the importance of physical expression.
When we play in a circle, we also interact in groups
These games create much more excitement in the younger ones because they represent an opportunity for them to share with others. This might mean their friends or their families, and in either case it’s a significant moment because we all have the opportunity to assume leadership and demonstrate our abilities. In addition, we can learn what others do in groups. In this way, this type of game becomes a social activity where kids can learn to recognize themselves as part of a community and experiment with their abilities and common objectives.
The rounds are fabulous because we share our collective energy
These group games allow for more than just cognitive learning. In fact, they also permit us to connect with something more important than ourselves. Circle games present an opportunity to work on transcending values such as helping others, doing something for the group, and using our talents to help the community. Isn’t it fabulous that we can learn all of this just by playing a game in a circle? In school or at home, the adults who direct these types of activities can create room for conversation and explore how the little ones feel when their input helps others.
Playing a game in a circle is a grand activity.
